Resolution

See the Difference More Pixels Make

Higher resolution records more pixels in each frame, which gives you more detail to work with when reviewing faces, vehicles, packages, and activity.

This product 2K / Super HD
720p 1280 x 720 0.9 million pixels
1080p 1920 x 1080 2.1 million pixels
2K / 1440p 2560 x 1440 3.7 million pixels
4K 3840 x 2160 8.3 million pixels

Resolution labels describe output dimensions. Aspect ratio, lens quality, sensor quality, lighting, compression, and recorder settings also affect usable image detail.

Description

The white Allied 5MP Motion Dual Light Defender Camera is the detail-focused choice for homes and businesses that need a broad view without giving up useful image information. Its 1/2.7-inch sensor and 2.8mm fixed lens cover 110 degrees horizontally, making it well suited to entrances, driveways, side yards, retail counters, service doors and other areas where a narrower camera could miss activity at the edges.

At full 5MP resolution, the camera records 2592 x 1944 video at 20 frames per second in TVI or AHD mode; CVI supports 2880 x 1620 at 25 frames per second. It can also run at 4MP or 1080p at up to 30 frames per second when a project calls for a different balance of detail, motion smoothness and recorder capacity. The selected signal mode and frame rate must match the compatible DVR or XVR.

Allied’s Motion Dual Light Defender camera system uses compatible recorder analytics to decide when motion or a supported smart object should trigger the lighting change. The camera can rely on infrared for discreet routine coverage, then activate white light to restore color around the event. Both illumination systems reach up to 131 feet, while ColorHunter imaging helps retain more color detail when visible light is available.

A built-in microphone carries synchronized audio over the coax connection in supported TVI and CVI modes. DWDR, backlight compensation, highlight compensation and 2D noise reduction help manage headlights, doorway contrast and uneven exterior lighting. The white housing blends cleanly with light soffits and ceilings, and its IP67 protection, 4kV surge resistance and -22 to 140 degrees F operating range make it ready for demanding indoor or outdoor Texas installations.
