Description
The 2GIG STZ-1 is a Z-Wave Plus 700 Series thermostat for compatible conventional and heat-pump systems with up to two heating and two cooling stages. Its illuminated controls and large temperature display keep daily adjustments straightforward, while a compatible Z-Wave platform adds remote setpoint changes and automation.
Four AA batteries support installations without a C-wire, or 24V AC power can be used when compatible wiring is available. Built-in humidity sensing, humidity-control support, and a local 5-1-1 schedule give the thermostat useful standalone capability even before connected routines are added.
For a complete smart thermostat setup, match every existing wire and HVAC stage to the supported terminals before removing the old control. Verify conventional versus heat-pump logic, auxiliary heat, fan behavior, and compressor protection during commissioning.
