Honeywell Home 997 360-Degree Ceiling PIR Motion Detector

The Honeywell Home 997 puts a compact 360-degree PIR pattern on the ceiling instead of aiming across the room from a wall. That position is useful in offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, retail areas, public lobbies, and residential spaces where furniture or traffic would complicate a conventional wall-mounted detector.

A single unit is recommended for rooms up to 30 x 30 ft, with a published maximum pattern of 36 ft in diameter under suitable mounting conditions. The 31-zone Fresnel lens includes look-down coverage, and selectable pulse count helps the installer balance fast response with stability. A twist-off cover, local or remote walk-test LED, and cover tamper simplify commissioning and service. The detector draws 17 mA from a nominal 12V DC source.

Because ceiling patterns change with mounting height, Allied verifies the protected footprint at the installed 8 to 12 ft elevation and adds detectors where room geometry exceeds one unit’s dependable reach. The low-profile 3.5 in housing keeps the protection visible enough to service without dominating the room.
