Description
The DSC PGP9914 brings the next PowerG+ generation to a familiar indoor motion-sensor format. Its 90-degree pattern reaches up to 39 feet, while True Motion Recognition helps separate purposeful movement from common room disturbances that can lead to nuisance alarms.
Optional pet immunity can account for animals up to 85 pounds when the detector is installed and configured correctly. A CR123A battery is rated for six to eight years of typical use, and supported PowerG+ panels add QR enrollment, two-factor device enrollment, battery-level reporting, and over-the-air firmware updates. Compatible PowerG systems can use the detector in fallback mode without the newer services.
Placement still matters: height, room geometry, direct sun, HVAC airflow, and a pet’s access to furniture can all change how a PIR behaves. When Allied designs a home security system, the detector can be positioned to watch the room’s likely travel path while keeping its coverage away from avoidable heat and movement sources.
