DSC PG9872 PowerG Long-Range 360-Degree Ceiling PIR Motion Detector

The DSC PG9872 extends ceiling-mounted motion protection to larger open interiors. Its circular PIR pattern reaches up to 65.6 feet in diameter, allowing a centrally located detector to cover spaces that would otherwise need several shorter-range wall sensors and overlapping patterns.

True Motion Recognition evaluates movement before an alarm is sent, while supported systems can display temperature and light-level information from the detector. The unit uses a CR123A battery rated for three years of typical security-mode use, includes tamper and low-battery supervision, and can be mounted from approximately 6.6 to 19.7 feet high to fit different ceiling conditions.

Open offices, showrooms, halls, worship spaces, and warehouse interiors are natural applications for that broader circle. In a large Allied commercial security system, the PG9872 can simplify the motion layout while still requiring a final walk test around racks, partitions, fixtures, and other real-world obstructions.
