Honeywell Home 5809SS Wireless Fixed and Rate-of-Rise Heat Detector

The Honeywell Home 5809SS combines two methods of heat detection in one supervised wireless device. It sends an alarm when ambient temperature reaches 135 F or when temperature rises by at least 15 F in one minute; the rate-of-rise function operates while the surrounding temperature is below 100 F.

This detector is intended for property protection in dry indoor locations that remain within its published environmental limits. It is not a substitute for smoke detection where life safety is involved, and the fixed-temperature element is non-restorable. If that element activates or the metal disc detaches, the complete detector must be replaced. The 5809SS has no built-in local sounder, so annunciation depends on the connected alarm system.

Allied verifies the environment before installation, enrolls the tamper-supervised 345 MHz zone, and tests communication from the final wall or ceiling location.
