Description
The DSC PGP9979 is a heat-only detector that responds when ambient temperature reaches approximately 135 F or climbs faster than 15 F per minute above 104 F. That combination is useful in approved locations where environmental conditions make a smoke-sensing chamber inappropriate, while still providing a supervised point on the alarm system.
An onboard sounder produces more than 85 dB at 10 feet. Two CR123A batteries can deliver up to six years of typical service in normal applications, and supported PowerG+ panels add battery-level reporting, OTA firmware updates, QR enrollment, and two-factor device enrollment. The detector must be replaced after ten years, and listed applications may require a shorter battery interval.
