Description
The DSC PGP9976 combines photoelectric smoke sensing with a fixed 135 F heat threshold and rate-of-rise detection. That layered design can alert a compatible security system to visible combustion particles or a fast temperature increase, while an onboard sounder produces more than 85 dB at 10 feet for local warning.
Two CR123A batteries support up to six years of typical use in normal applications. PowerG+ panels can add QR enrollment, two-factor device enrollment, battery-level reporting, and over-the-air firmware updates; the detector can also use standard PowerG communication when those newer services are unavailable. Battery service intervals depend on panel mode, signal conditions, testing, and the listing requirements of the installation.
A professionally installed smoke detector is most effective when its location, spacing, monitoring response, and routine testing are treated as one plan.
