Honeywell Home FG1625 FlexGuard Glass Break Detector

The Honeywell Home FG1625 is a surface-mounted acoustic detector for rooms with framed windows, patio doors, display glass, or other vulnerable glazing. It evaluates the flex and high-frequency characteristics associated with an impact and shattering event instead of reacting to one loud sound alone.

Four sensitivity settings tailor the range from approximately 5 to 25 ft, and the final position can be verified with the FG701 glass-break simulator. The detector supports plate, tempered, laminated, wired, coated, and sealed insulating glass within the thickness limits in the installation guide. Multiple-domain analysis, a Form A alarm relay, optional LED latching, and automatic exit from test mode help the device remain practical after commissioning. Power requirements are 8-16V DC at 12 mA typical.

In a monitored home security system or small-business layout, glass-break detection can add perimeter awareness while occupants are still inside.
