Description
The white Qolsys IQ Mini DW-S keeps visible hardware to a minimum while reporting when a protected door, window, cabinet, or closet opens. Its rare-earth magnet gives the installer more flexibility around trim, and the compact housing is easy to place where a full-size contact would look bulky.
S-Line encryption protects compatible transmissions to a Qolsys panel, while 319.5 MHz operation preserves support for approved systems in that radio family. In a professionally installed home security system, the contact can also support named alerts and automation rules such as adjusting a thermostat when a window is left open.
The sensor reaches up to 600 feet in open air and uses two CR2032 batteries. Allied uses the conservative five-year replacement interval in the current quick guide, even though the marketing page describes longer battery life; walls, metal, signal traffic, and temperature can all affect real-world performance.
