Description
The DSC WS4945 is a compact wireless contact for doors and windows where a larger transmitter would look bulky or interfere with trim. Its built-in reed switch reports when the supplied magnet moves away, and the published 5/8-inch maximum gap gives the installer clear placement limits for dependable open/close detection.
A normally closed external-contact input can connect one compatible hardwired contact when the built-in magnet is not the right fit. That input is not supervised, the external contact must remain in the same room, and the connecting wire is limited to three feet. Case and optional wall-tamper protection add another layer of supervision, while a preinstalled CR2 battery supports a typical five-to-eight-year service interval.
When Allied evaluates an existing alarm system, the technician confirms the DSC 433 MHz receiver, checks signal strength at the final opening, and tests the contact before commissioning it.
