Description
The Altronix SMP5 is a higher-output power supply and charger board for compatible security, access-control, and CCTV accessories. A 16-28V AC input is converted to selectable 6, 12, or 24V DC output with up to 4A of continuous current available at the selected voltage.
Filtered, regulated output is protected against short circuits and thermal overload. Add a properly sized sealed lead-acid or gel battery and the board provides instantaneous failover when AC power is lost, while separate LEDs confirm incoming power and active DC output.
For powered accessories in a video surveillance system, Allied calculates total continuous and startup current, voltage drop, transformer capacity, enclosure ventilation, and battery runtime before installation.
