The Qolsys IQ Motion-S uses passive infrared detection to cover rooms, hallways, and open interior spaces after the perimeter has been secured. Its published pattern reaches 30 by 40 feet with an 80-degree view, giving one properly placed sensor useful coverage across a large traffic path.

Pet immunity supports animals up to 40 pounds when the detector is mounted at the specified 7.5-foot height and aimed away from common trouble sources. Furniture, stairs, windows, HVAC vents, and places where a pet can climb still affect performance, so the feature depends on thoughtful placement rather than the label alone.

Within an Allied home security system, the encrypted S-Line motion zone adds interior backup and can support compatible occupancy automations. Two AAA batteries provide a five-year replacement interval, and flat-wall or corner mounting can be selected for the room layout.
