Bosch DS1102I Square Surface-Mount Glass Break Detector

The Bosch DS1102I is the square surface-mount option in the DS1100i acoustic detector family. It listens for the frequency, signature, and timing relationships associated with framed glass breaking, then uses microprocessor-based Sound Analysis Technology to decide whether the event qualifies as an alarm.

The documented maximum is 25 ft to the farthest point of compatible glass, including plate, tempered, laminated, and wired panes at least 12 x 12 in. A built-in environmental test helps identify locations exposed to recurring low- or high-frequency noise, and the DS1110I tester verifies both placement and operation. The detector also responds to a nearby hand clap as a quick power and microphone check. Its Form C relay and separate cover tamper support supervised hardwired loops.

The square face can align neatly with other wall hardware in a residence or business, but acoustics determine whether the location works. Allied measures from the detector to each glass corner, accounts for curtains and sound-absorbing finishes, and includes the final acoustic test within the complete security system installation.
