Description
The Honeywell Home 5820L is a narrow surface-mount contact for casement windows, double-hung windows, and doors whose trim does not leave room for a standard transmitter. At 3 inches tall and only 0.5 inch wide, it keeps the protected opening easy to service without requiring a recessed hole in the frame.
The supplied magnet can be positioned beside the sensor in any orientation that preserves the alignment marks and stays within the 0.5-inch maximum gap. Front- and back-case tamper switches can report unauthorized opening or removal, while the single AAA lithium battery can be replaced when the panel reports a low-battery condition. The manufacturer rates this model for indoor, non-condensing operation from 32 to 122 F.
Its clean profile works well when a visible contact is acceptable but bulky hardware is not. Allied tests magnet spacing through the full movement of the opening and confirms the 345 MHz signal before the adhesive or mounting screws are finalized.
